  • DAY ONE

The first day and the first night of the Palermo-Montecarlo regatta have been very calm.
Actually the boats are sailing toward the gate in Porto Cervo, where wind blows at 8/9 knots. Boats are expected to pass the gate tonight.

Rambler/USA is leading the fleet, at nearly 220 nm from Montecarlo. Wild Joe/HUN and Ville de Geneve/FRA are 50 and 52 miles behind.
Buena Vista, the boat representing the Circolo della Vela Sicilia is 56 miles behind while Majic of Yacht Club de Monaco follows 80 miles behind.

Among the boats fighting for the Italian offshore championship, Be Wild (owner Renzo Grottesi) leads, followed by Lisa of Giovanni de Vincenzo and Extra 1 (tactician Matteo Ivaldi).

In the “x 2” Stefano Chiarotti and Giancarlo Pedote onboard Lunatika are the boat to beat.
