14/05/2019: ALREADY MORE THAN 20 YACHTS REGISTERED FOR THE XV EDITION
Three months before the departure from the Gulf of Mondello scheduled on Wednesday 21 August, there are already 21 boats registered for the XV edition of the Palermo-Montecarlo. A top-quality fleet which includes among others four multihulls and five Maxi Yachts, with real international sailing queens such as David Witt's SHK Scallywag, a Super Maxi protagonist of the most important offshore regattas in the world, and the 82 footer Vera owned by Miguel Galluccio.
It's also noteworthy that 4 boats are registered in the double handed class – Muttley owned by Diego Tisci, the first Figaro 3 with foils arrived in Italy, the evergreen Perspective owned by Giacomo Gonzi, Bruno Battista and his Sun Fast 3600 Skip Intro - while two boats will race in the solo division, Iorana3 owned by Alain Belhassen and Aragon by owned by Nicolas Lecarpentier.
In general, the presence of crews coming from abroad (from France above all) stands out, confirming the international level reached by the Palermo-Montecarlo in recent years and making it the most cosmopolitan offshore regatta in the Mediterranean.
We remind everyone that in the wake of a consolidated and appreciated experience, also this year the Circolo della Vela Sicilia will provide participants with a series of containers which will be loaded and sent by the organization directly to Montecarlo by land. This exclusive service will allow the crews to return to their home port (or to continue for a cruise along the French Riviera) without having to come back to Sicily to retrieve the material left on land for the regatta.
We are waiting for you in Palermo !
